On January 25th, two Cristusian officials joined the server of the Federated States of Gapla to inform Sov. Prince Wyatt Baek of an overlap between territorial claims. Before this, Cristus had been a relatively isolated micronation that had not engaged in foreign affairs frequently. Three days later, Wyatt Baek announced that Cristus and Gapla had started talks. The two nations were on course to merge together. The next day, Wyatt announced elatedly that Cristus had become a dominion of Gapla, but the dark truth remained. George Celenic, partially on behalf of Laskaridia, said he was interested in diplomacy with Cristus, a fellow slav, His Majesty Holdsworth I, graciously accepted Celenic as a citizen, and said he would talk to Wyatt about diplomacy. Wyatt shut down the offer. Just as he stalled on the Auran Accords (proposed by Juniperia nearly 10 months ago), he shut down this attempt to strengthen ties. One of the archetypical parts of this deal between the two nations, was the Nationbuilding Council. A "council" of individuals who's purpose was to construct a new country in Gaplan claimed lands. Wyatt was, and is fully aware that people have been arrested for violation of Croation border regulations, but he still flaunts that this nationbuilding council is useful. So far, its not clear if Cristusians have been enthusiastic about the council. Wyatt also admitted to Cristus losing its rights, as pictured here.
Cristus, in addition to losing its sovreignty, also lost its ability to conduct foreign affairs. All previous ties with other nations had been abolished, without the consent of His Majesty, Holdworth I. In what appeared to be a tantrum, Wyatt publicly swore at Laskaridian diplomats.
This incited anger amongst some, the Christian Democratic Party of Laskaridia condemned Gaplan imperialism, and Bluebonn, an independent, has resolved to "protest the annexation."
