Pontunia's new opposition: explained.

Pontunian government has recently taken a turn with the establishment of the Democratic Opposition of Pontunia, a concentration of left-wing opposition groups hoping to dismantle the monarchy in the name of a republicanized state. One of the main groups of the opposition is the Left Front of Pontunia, which has recently gained membership and has received backing from the IWC. The story begins with the rise of socialism in smaller micronations. In early August 2023, the International Worker's Congress (IWC) was created as a center for socialist and left-leaning states and parties. Among its members, is the Commonwealth of Faltree, a successor state to the State of Faltree which was dissolved, the Socialist Commonwealth of Malus which is headed by infamous Satanist Lucifero Mickomick, and the Aleunnic Workers Republic. The IWC has sponsored the creation of numerous socialist parties, many of which were founded by Hunt Powell, founder of the IWC and leader of Faltree. On September 23rd, 2023, the Democratic Opposition of Pontunia was created. The group is extra-legal and has received condemnation from Pontunia and Roscamistan, and has also received the backing of its Faltrian satellite states as well as its IWC allies. Currently, the situation appears to be peaceful. The Democratic Opposition, however, does not have the Nationalist Party in its membership, which is a part of the Left Front of Pontunia.
