Prominent royal launches claim to the Seneschladom of Donnauberg.

Shown: The decree, it ends with a popular Drummontian saying used during the Westavian wars of conquest. “In service [of our] King, we swear allegiance to the Shahanian regality, their promise.” And on the bottom, “Drummontia, city of devotion, blessed by Jesus Christ, our lord”

Today, the Seneschal of Norfolk, Henry, and his cousin Sir Alexander Drummont of Serwich met, and it is believed that at some time during that meeting, the Seneschal and the Lord of Serwich promulgated a claim to the Seneschalty of Donnauberg.

The current title “Seneschal of Donnauberg” is held by George Celenic. It was one of the agreements between His Majesty the King, and His Highness Edward, Prince-emeritus. The agreement stated that the House of Celenic would receive the Seneschalty as a “prize” for handing over the throne of Laskaridia. The now-King agreed and proceeded.

The title “Seneschal of Donnauberg” is important for many reasons, chiefly being that it holds a ceremonial command and is the head of state of Donnauberg Province. As Seneschal, the individual would be able to command its ceremonial guard, grant orders and do as any constitutional monarch would, with respect to the Paramount King.

The debate has been going on since the assumption of power by George, Seneschal of Donnauberg. But it is now intensifying as Celenic announced he would be open to abdicate, even with persuasion from his brother Edward Celenic. The House of Drummont has long held significance in Donnauberg, the long line of Drummontians served as clerics, advisors and clergymen to the Emperors of Westavia, and were rewarded well for their competence. The line stands as a prestigious one, with there being 3 main Drummontians at play, Henry, Seneschal of Norfolk, Alexander, Lord of Serwich, and Charles, Duke of Donnauberg. The duchy however, would pass to Alexander upon his ascension.

This move has been described as a controversial “power-play” by Edward Celenic, with his highness urging the sovereign not to accept the claim. However, the Supreme Court of Laskaridia has opened an investigative sub-committee to look into the legal basis of the act. The Drummontian parties claim that there is no violation of law, as the Saintathen Accords justified the rule of multiple dynasties with the House of Lascaria as the paramountcy.
